A comprehensive scoping engagement gets me acquainted with your product, your strategy, your requirements, what exists already and what needs to be developed. This effort allows me to accurately scope the project needs and quote the work.

You get a written plan: the path I recommend with estimated timeline, the risks I found, and a fixed quote for identified phases of work.

The document is yours either way. You can hire me with it, or take it to another shop. It will save everyone time.

A board, designed and delivered: schematics, layout, a buildable BOM, fab files, test firmware, and bring-up of the first articles. I offer this as a specific fixed bid service because it is a bounded task that I have deep experience in. One of the most common frustrations I see in clients is a board underquoted, with time and materials pricing slowly creeping up through development and bring-up. A fixed bid protects everyone involved and leans on my experience to mitigate risk on all sides.

The client is responsible for material costs. Board design includes a respin guarantee. If a board I designed needs a revision to meet the spec we agreed on, I pay for the respin.

For work that isn't a single board: more open research and development, application firmware, production support / tooling, or whole products start to finish.

Each week ends with a report of what changed: working hardware, running code, a diagnosis, or a decision. I do not split my attention between weekly engagements. You get my full attention on your project.
